Exciting news!! The Trust has been granted resource consent by Otago Regional Council that will allow us to start restoration of the Canton battery site. This is a significant achievement and a proud milestone, reflecting the dedication, perseverance and support of many people over many years.
The consent allows earthworks, including excavation work to drain the site, and any necessary minor vegetation clearance. You can follow progress on the project here.
